The Multimedia Department has successfully acquired an ISO 9001:2000 certificate for its services on 3D digitization of cultural heritage.
HELEXPO 2007
The Department made great efforts for the organization and presentation of the Institute’s participation in HELEXPO 2007 International Exhibition of Thessaloniki.
“Advanced subjects of digitization”
The Department participated in the seminar “Advanced subjects of digitization, processing and analysis of 3D data and applications”, organized by the project “Strengthening of studies in informatics” of the Technological Educational Institution of Serres, 6-8 June 2007, Serres, Greece.
Getting in touch with the Army
The Department, along with the other Departments of the Institute, organized a workshop for the Fourth Army Corps, during May 2007, regarding new technologies in culture and education, where the Institute excels, while proposing a possible cooperation and applications for the Army.
In a sign of honor the Fourth Army Corps awarded the Institute a commemorative plaque.

Third International Conference of Museology
A very successful participation of the Department in the Third International Conference of Museology held at Mytilene, Greece, on 5-9 June, 2006. Two papers and two posters accepted for publication.
